The original village of Val d'Isere has grown considerably in the direction of the valley, the hamlet of departure now corresponds to the center of the resort with its church and its old houses. It is today surrounded by different neighborhoods that have emerged from earth over the decades.
Arriving from Tignes by road, you will discover Val d'Isere by the Daille district, then Crêt, you pass the center village and the resort is divided into two branches: one including the districts of Joseray, Legettaz and The Châtelard, the other comprising the districts of Le Laisinant and Fornet. The whole resort is located at more than 1 800 meters of altitude which guarantees a snow white atmosphere in winter to the holiday makers who come to stay in Val d'Isere.
The resort offers a large and varied range of accommodation for vacationers: rent apartments, hotels, clubs and rent chalets, in addition to the old houses of the village center. If we count a few large ensembles, which are visible when arriving at La Daille, the resort has been able to develop whilst limiting the size and height of tourist residences.
