Projects: new lifts

Less waiting at ski lifts and a faster transfer! Discover the investment projects in Megeve, Courchevel and Saint-Martin de Belleville.

Lanchettes and Petite Fontaine chairlift

Megeve

To improve the comfort of its customers, Megeve will redevelop the Rochebrune sector by investing more than 21 million euros. Until now, the area has been occupied by four old ski lifts, including two ski lifts and two chairlifts.

From now on, there will only be two chairlifts: the Lanchettes and Petite Fontaine. This will make it possible to remove about ten pylons from the alpine landscape and offer a simplified and faster connection between Côte 2000 and Rochebrune.

Saint Martin cable car 1

Saint-Martin-de-Belleville

The Saint Martin gondola lift built in 2002 is one of the busiest in the resort during the winter season. From the resort, it allows you to reach the Saint Martin Express chairlift to reach the summit of Tougnète at 2434 metres to ensure a direct link to the rest of the 3 Valleys.

Good news for our skiers: it has a new look this year! New, more comfortable and ergonomic cabins and departure and arrival docks will be replaced so that customers have easier access to the world's largest ski area.

Grandes Combes chair lift

Courchevel Village

For several years, Courchevel wants to make the connections between its four levels as easy as possible. For the winter season 2019, a new chairlift will be born at the foot of the Aquamotion Courchevel Village.

This ski lift will leave from Courchevel Village to reach the heart of Courchevel 1850, at the same level as the new gondola Praz. An investment that should facilitate the ski days of holiday makers staying in Courchevel Village.

The Alpinium

Courchevel Le Praz

The Alpinium is a very large project, planned for December 2019, of 18,000 sq.m spread over 3 levels. This complex will modernize and innovate the Praz snowfront. Within the Apinium, there will be a 500-space car park, a modern media library, a sports platform on the roof of the building, a cable car and a new outdoor layout with more views and space.

This major project will take place in particular for the 2023 Alpine World Ski Championships in Courchevel and Meribel.

The Praz cable car

Courchevel Le Praz

The Alpinium is built on the foundations of the Praz cable car. This 4-seater gondola lift retires in December 2019 to make way for a brand new gondola lift. A real "urban transport", the Praz cable car will now accommodate 10-passenger cabins. The line will be illuminated so that it can operate outside the ski area's opening hours.

One of the biggest changes to this lift is the arrival, which will now take place in the centre of Courchevel 1850 in just 5 minutes and 50 minutes, compared to the current 7 minutes. It will therefore be faster to reach Courchevel 1850 by cable car than by car.
