The guide to the resort of Courchevel
Courchevel is one of the most renowned ski resorts in the world and is located in the valley of Saint Bon in 5 villages: Saint Bon (1100), Courchevel Le Praz (1300), Courchevel Village (1550) Courchevel Moriond (1650) and Courchevel (1850).
The ski area
The topography of Courchevel offers its holidaymakers extraordinary views. It is not a valley station but a set of 5 villages spread out on the mountainside. As a result, one overlooks the valley with stunning panoramas!
Courchevel is part of the 3 Valleys, which is the largest connected ski area in the world. The slopes of Courchevel are really superb and offer a variety that one tends to forget. Very technical station with steep and steep corridors like that of the Saulire, and at the same time boulevards, ski slope in pines and very mineral ski slope in high altitude.
Very extensive and with a topography in circus, you can really do sports or walk in very motley surroundings while being in Courchevel. The valley of the Avals gives the impression of a wild skiing without infrastructures. La Loze seduces lovers of speed, the trail of Bellecôte the walkers ...
Thanks to its different altitudes and its 5 villages, Courchevel is one of the very few resorts in the world to offer different atmospheres : great skiers, night owls, gastronomes, beginners, families, adrenaline addicts , Non-skiers ... Everyone can find its happiness among the villages that make up Courchevel.
If Courchevel (1850) concentrates a number of high-end establishments, we find a wide choice of accommodation, restaurants, services ... for all tastes and all purses on other levels of the resort.
Saint Bon (1100) and Courchevel Le Praz (1300) are the original villages of Courchevel, as evidenced by their small authentic lanes, their chalets and period farms, and the timeless soul that emerges from them.
The Praz (1300) forms a small plateau at 1300m, which allows the village to nest in the mountainside, to welcome the lake, and gives it its atmosphere of the time.
Strolling through its narrow and authentic streets, one discovers pubs of an alley, restaurants in the turn of another, and authentic or modern chalets.
With its lake and ski jump built for the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville, Le Praz (1300) enjoys a winter and summer activity and counts authentic restaurants and chic as the spirit escapes Of the village. Among them, L'Azimut, rewarded with a star in the Michelin Guide, Le Bistrot du Praz or La Table de mon Grand-père are restaurants in keeping with the image of the Savoie village of ourchevel Le Praz (1300).
"La Forêt" chairlift takes you in a few minutes to the Col de la Loze and the Praz cable car joins the center of Courchevel (1850).
Sometimes in boulevard, sometimes along the forest, the ski slope "Jean Blanc", "Les Brigues" or "Les Amoureux", you ski from Courchevel to Praz by those ski run.
Courchevel Village (1550)
Courchevel Village (1550) is the resort of choice for sportsmen. It spreads down the slopes of the Provères, the Tovets and the Dou du Midi offering ski accommodation on foot or almost.
The views are all exceptional since Courchevel Village (1550) as the chalets and apartments often overlook openings with views of the slopes and east, overlooking the valley with clear landscapes on the peaks of the Vanoise.
An often forgotten asset of Courchevel Village (1550) is its immediate vicinity with the Croisette, the center of Courchevel (1850) which is joined with the gondola lift of the Grangettes.
The snow front, facing south, and the Savoyard restaurants such as L'œil de Bœuf or Le Caveau, or La Casa Italia and La Cortona, offer a familiar and convivial atmosphere at this altitude of Courchevel.
Finally, the incredible Aquamotion aquasportive center with its swimming pools, surfing pool with artificial waves, canyoning equipment, spas and other restaurants in Courchevel Village (1550) is a major asset that attracts all levels of the station for 365 days a year. The Aquamotion is located in the Grande Combe, equidistant between Courchevel Village (1550) and Moriond (1650), which is accessed by a pleasant footpath and escalators.
The accommodation of Courchevel Village (1550) offers both small apartments on slopes and large chalets of prestige, some even including a swimming pool. The residence Carré Blanc (video) and its 30 high-end apartments in the center or the prestigious chalets in the residential area of Les Brigues such as Le Partagas, Le 1550 and Ancolie are the witnesses of a high-end property that is no longer confined to Courchevel 1850) but which offers lower prices.
Courchevel Moriond (1650)
A family friendly resort
Often called "Moriond the sunny", this level of Courchevel is the family destination by excellence !
The main reasons for this are the gentle slopes of the ski area and the large and friendly snow front. Ski lovers, especially with children, will love Courchevel Moriond (1650) and its residences on the snow front.
Moriond (1650) offers a wide choice of ski-in / ski-out residences that offer all or almost 180-degree panoramic views: Résidence 1650, Grandes Bosses, l'Ourse Bleue, Aspen Lodge...
At the crossroads, the luxury residences Aspen Lodge, Les 3 Vaches, or 4807 (on the left) welcome lucky holidaymakers into large, chalet-style apartments.
However, Moriond offers a lot of very high-quality chalets: Licorne et Licorne des Neiges, Overview, Amnesia, Libellule, ... moreover, bathed in sunlight.
The belvedere neighborhood
At the top of Moriond (1650) and a minute by car, the Belvedere district is a timeless bubble that brings a unique ambience and environment to Courchevel.
Here, the few residences and chalets of standing are without person opposite along the ski slope of the Belvedere and gives an authentically alpine atmosphere and a feeling of escape for privileged holidays because the accommodation is rare and very demanding.
Gourmet restaurants and accommodations
We choose Courchevel (1850) for its unparalleled quality of services, its extraordinary offer of gourmet and starred restaurants (Le 1947 ***, Les Airelles **, Le Chabichou **, Le Kintessence ***, Le Montgomerie **, Le Baumanière * ...), its luxury hotels (17 5-star hotels and 3 of 24 luxury hotels in France), its sublime chalets, spas and chic boutiques.
Courchevel quickly attracted an increasingly demanding clientele that pushed the hotel industry up. Gastronomy and service providers in the wake of 5 * star hotels and palaces have reached the summit of excellence to build loyalty to an even more international clientele.
We also choose Courchevel 1850 for its favorite neighborhood. Lovers of Bellecôte appreciate the large chalets skis to the feet nested in the pines. The pralong lovers or Nogentil will appreciate to be at the top of the station. The enthusiasts of Cospillot prefer a cozy atmosphere yet close to the center. Chenus lovers admire the views, access to the slopes and the center. Meanwhile lovers of chic and family atmosphere will take refuge in the Jardin Alpin.
Personalities such as Mrs FENESTRAZ have reinvented ski tourism by introducing a "service" dimension in both the provision of services to individuals and accommodation and sports facilities.
Nowadays, hotels, ski schools, ski resort services, restaurant owners, shopkeepers, cottage and apartment rentals, spas ... work together with an absolute level of demand to welcome the client in what the mountain has best to offer: a French art of living.
After the rapid development of 4 and 5 star hotels and palaces, and the advent of luxury chalets and luxury brand boutiques, Courchevel (1850) quickly became the superlative stage.
Far from the clichés and other prejudices, the success of Courchevel (1850) is due to quite tangible factors : it is above all the audacity and the humane initiative that are at the origin of this rise and popularity .
With more than 3,000 reservations per year, Cimalpes enables more than 25,000 holidaymakers to benefit from hotel comfort in their own accommodation each winter.
