Skiing in Megeve
The ski resort
The ski area of Megeve is spread over nearly 100 kilometres, opening up to several valleys thanks to the link between the resorts of Haute-Savoie and Savoie. Its 90 slopes will be the joy of all skiers: starting on the 21 green ski slopes, children and beginner skiers will evolve towards the 23 blue slopes while advanced skiers will venture out to ski the 28 red runs and may dare to face the 14 black runs of the domain.
The 4 remaining ski slopes are dedicated to ski and snow playgrounds proposed by the Megeve ski area.
The Speed Test located on the track "Schuss au Mont d'Arbois" is a timed racing track to learn how to control speed when racing. Videos and photos are available after the visit in this free workshop.
The Photo Zones are located at the top of the Caboche, the Alpette and the Mont d'Arbois ski slopes. These places are perfect to immortalize your day with the magnificent panoramic background you will enjoy from these view points.
The Video Zone allows all acrobats and freestyle skiers and riders to film their exploits on the Waidzai Park in Rochebrune.
The Quattro Video Experience on the Ski Cross track is a new freestyle area for all. New plots and unusual jumps will be the theater of new filmed experiences.
In addition to these fun activities, the resort of Megeve offers you with your ski pass a 2-hour access to the Airbag where you can test you jumping skills and to tracking you journey skiing through the resort by usind their mobile app.
The Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area
Megeve is an integral part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area, with no less than 7 resorts combined: Megeve, Les Contamines-Montjoie, Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains, Saint-Nicolas-de-Veroce, Combloux, La Giettaz and Hauteluce.
This immense domain gives access to 445 kilometers of slopes and 108 lifts to connect the 219 runs and the 7 snowparks between them. From the most novice to the most experienced, all levels of skiers will find the trails that suit them among the 38 green runs, 65 blue, 82 red and 34 black runs.
The magic of skiing in the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area comes from the spectacular view skiers can enjoy of the highest peak in Europe: the Mont Blanc.
With a minimum altitude of 1 190 meters and maximum of 1 930 meters, the ski area of Megeve contains treasures like the three massifs on which it extends: Rochebrune, Jaillet and Mont-d'Arbois. Its exposure is ideal for snow quality in some places like Mont-d'Arbois, others use snow cannons in addition to natural snowfall. Thanks to the resort's 170 snow guns, skiers can enjoy the snow from morning to night.
The ski lifts
Megeve's ski area is connected to the network of Evasion Mont-Blanc resorts. It requires many ski lifts that have been installed over the years to meet the demand of a continusouly increasing number skiers.
The 63 ski lifts consist of:
- 4 floor carpets
- 25 ski lifts
- 9 detachable lifts
- 12 fixed chairlifts
- 8 gondolas
- 5 cable cars
