Enjoy all the grandeur of the mountains around Val Thorens as you descent La Bee zip line. Thrills are guaranteed as you fly like an eagle for two minutes during an exhilarating 1,300 metre descent in complete safety. Setting off from an altitude of 3,230 metres, you can enjoy many exceptional views over the Tarentaise and Maurienne valleys.
What could be better than a breath of summer air in the mountains? When the winter snow gives way to alpine pastures and green forests, a summer hike is a wonderful way to discover the mountain in a different way.
Enjoy the breathtaking views of the high mountain peaks and glaciers, but keep your eyes open too for marmots cavorting in the flower-strewn meadows, or chamois hidden amongst the rocks. With some ski lifts open in the summer, pedestrians can easily to get up to over 3,000 metres to enjoy the peaks up close.

Mountain biking is a great way to enjoy the mountains in summer. With twenty-one marked itineraries totalling 120 kilometres in length, the Val Thorens/Les Menuires/Saint-Martin area has been officially accredited by the French Cycling Federation since 1998.
Set off on an adventure along mountain ridges, over summer pastures and alongside rivers as you explore the network of trails that wind their way through this beautiful mountain playground.

The movement of livestock up to their summer pastures, known as "l’emmontagnée" in Savoie, is an integral part of mountain culture.
This important event for the local farmers is also not to be missed by visitors. To the sound of bells and accordions, join the farmers and their herds of cows and goats as they ascend from the valley. This friendly and convivial event can be enjoyed by young and old alike.
